[tex]m = \frac{y - y1}{x - x1} \\ - 3 = \frac{y - 6}{x - ( - 8)} \\ - 3 = \frac{y - 6}{x + 8} \\ y - 6 = - 3(x + 8) \\ y - 6 = - 3x - 24 \\ y = - 3x - 24 + 6 \\ y = - 3x - 18[/tex]
