This uses the Pythagorean Theorem, which is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 . All you need to do is switch that formula around and you can get the answer easily.

10^2 + b^2 = 16^2

100 + b^2 = 256

b^2 = 156

b= 12.489, or 12.49 rounded
