8x-7 = 5x + 2
3x = 9
x = 3

8y - 4 = 5y +2
3y =6
y = 2

8z -17 = 5z - 5
3z = 12
z = 4

AD = 8z -17 = 8(4) - 17 = 15
DE = 8x-7 = 8(3) - 7 = 17
AE = 8y - 4 = 8(2) - 4 = 12

Perimeter of AED = 15+17+12 = 44

answer is D. 44 (last choice)
