 solve for x.

x+9y=18

Add -9y to both sides.

x+9y+−9y=18+−9y

x=−9y+18

solve for y.

x+9y=18

Add -x to both sides.

x+9y+−x=18+−x

9y=−x+18

Divide both sides by 9.

9y/9=−x+18/9

y=−1/9x+2
